Artist Trading Cards for International Artists Day
Host:
Helen Daniels, Jillian Hull and Salomeh Honarmand
604-230-1050CALLING ALL ARTISTS! In honour of International Artists Day (Picasso's birthday!), come celebrate with other artists in our community at a fun, free evening of making and sharing Artist Trading Cards.
Here are my cards :) I was working on collage with many textures, materials, and colors.
This the place in which we were celebrating " Artist Trading Cards for International Artists Day ".
More of my cards. These are creating from different materials.
Why: Cuz it's fun -- and we want to celebrate the arts and being artists and being part of a creative community.
What: Have a look at these websites to get inspired http://www.art-e-zine.co.uk/atcnov03.html or http://www.artist-trading-cards.ch/ Artists and creatives from all media are invited. We know you don't need any help thinking outside the box, but suggestions might be to create a collage, write out your favorite lyrics or a bit of poem or play, capture a still from a film or include something with birch bark or woodchips. This is about capturing a bit of your story and passion and sharing it with others. Go nuts.
How: Feel free to make some cards ahead of time (using card stock paper measuring 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" so they can fit into trading card pockets) or make your cards with free supplies at the Artist Trading Card evening. You make 'em, you swap 'em, you grab a drink, have a nosch and, oh, did we say? Have some fun.
Who: You know who you are. We're celebrating creativity and connection, so if you feel the pull, come on out and find your people! And bring your people! We know you know lots of artists, aspiring artists and closet creatives, so bring them along so we can all get to know each other. If you can, let us know if you're coming- helps with our planning- or just drop in.
PS Helen Daniels, Jillian Hull and Salomeh Honarmand are hoping you'll give them one of your cards for a super secret art project they are working on.
